Area Landfill Authority General Information: The Wright County Landfill Authority owns and operates the Wright County Landfill, located at 2251 O'Brien Avenue, Clarion. The Landfill is located 2 miles east and 1/2 mile south of Clarion on Hwy 3. Mailing Address: Telephone: (515) 532-2984 Hours of Operation: All loads coming to the landfill must be fully enclosed or covered and secured with a tarp. Material Accepted: The Landfill accepts most types of solid waste, excluding hazardous or toxic materials and no liquids. Banned Materials: The following materials have also been banned
from the landfill: Rates: All loads coming to the Landfill will be weighed and charged $50.00 per ton. There is a minimum charge of $15.00. There is an extra $15.00 charge for each appliance (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, stoves, microwaves, washers, dryers, furnaces, water heaters, garbage compactors, etc.) Recognizable sections or parts of these items will be treated as a complete unit. There is an extra charge for tires. This charge is dependent on the size of the tire. There is also an extra charge if the tire is on a rim. There is an extra charge for all electronics, depending on the type of unit. Residential Recycling: For residential, curbside recycling services, contact the Wright County Landfill.
