Area Landfill Authority

General Information:

The Wright County Landfill Authority owns and operates the Wright County Landfill, located at 2251 O'Brien Avenue, Clarion. The Landfill is located 2 miles east and 1/2 mile south of Clarion on Hwy 3.

Hours of Operation:
    Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Saturday 9:00 a.m. - Noon

All loads coming to the landfill must be fully enclosed or covered and secured with a tarp.

Material Accepted:

The Landfill accepts most types of solid waste, excluding hazardous or toxic materials and no liquids.

Banned Materials:

The following materials have also been banned from the landfill:
        corrugated cardboard
        yard waste (leaves, grass, brush, trees, limbs, garden waste, etc.)
        dead animals of any kind
        manures (solids, liquids, sludges, etc.)
        machinery (cars, trucks, farm implements, etc.)
        rubble, larger than 12" (concrete, asphalt, cement, etc.)
        burn barrels

Rates:

All loads coming to the Landfill will be weighed and charged $50.00 per ton. There is a minimum charge of $15.00.

There is an extra $15.00 charge for each appliance (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, stoves, microwaves, washers, dryers, furnaces, water heaters, garbage compactors, etc.) Recognizable sections or parts of these items will be treated as a complete unit.

There is an extra charge for tires. This charge is dependent on the size of the tire. There is also an extra charge if the tire is on a rim.

There is an extra charge for all electronics, depending on the type of unit.

Residential Recycling:

For residential, curbside recycling services, contact the Wright County Landfill.
